I was born at Hausa Quarters (Fence) Kumba in Cameroon where I grew up in a family of six children. After primary education atKosala, Kumba I went to Buea for secondary and high school, after which I returned to Kumba and taught Physics and Mathematics. In April 1997, I traveled to Germany in quest for education in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Below is a brief resume of my academic and professional biography.
Since August 2008
I took over a newly founded laboratory team of engineers and physicists as leader. My team performs mainly Destructive Physical Analysis and other quality inspections on all kinds of space flight Electrical Electronic and Electromechanical (EEE) parts ranging from passive parts like capacitances, resistances, switches, transformers, inductors etc to active devices like transistors, diodes, integrated circuits, hybrids, optocouplers, light-emitting and laser diodes etc.
September 2007 to July 2008
I worked as Parts Engineer for high-reliability EEE parts for space application.
March 2004 to June 2007
Research assistant and Ph.D scholar at the Institute of Semiconductor Technology, Brunswick University of Technology, Germany. I worked on the epitaxy and characterisation of ZnO-based epi-layers and nanostructures for (opto)electronic and magnetoelectronic (also spintronic) applications and defended a doctorate degree (Dr.-Ing) in Electrical and Information Engineering. I worked in Brunswick till August 2007.
October 2000 to December 2003
Postgraduate studies at the University of Duisburg Specialisation: Electronics :- semiconductor technology for micro and optoelectronic applications. Graduated with M.Sc. (CSCE, Electronics)
During this period, I worked as a student at Nanofocus AG, where I was involved in the construction and documentation of surface measuring instruments mSurf and mScan. I later took up another student job at the Center for Semiconductor Technology and Optoelectronics (Department of Solid-State Electronics) where I was involved in many tasks in epitaxy and characterisation of III-V semiconductors, III-V device processing and characterisation. I worked as assistant in the department till 29.02.2004.
October 1998 to September 2000
University studies (undergraduate) at the University of Duisburg Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Course: Computer Science and Communications Engineering. Obtained the German "Vordiplom"
April 1997 to June 1998
German language course at Studentkolleg des ökumenischen Studienwerks Bochum, Germany. Obtained the German language proficiency certificate for university education (DSH)
September 1995 to April 1997
Physics and mathematics teaching assistant at Presbyterian Youth Center and Cameroon College of Commerce Kumba
September 1993 to September 1995
Higher secondary education at Bilingual Grammar School Molyko, Buea: GCE Advanced Level in Physics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Chemistry.
September 1988 to September 1993
Secondary education at Government Secondary School Buea: GCE Ordinary level in English, French, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Human Biology, Geography,Economics and Further Mathematics.
September 1981 to September 1988
Primary education at Government Bilingual Primary School Kumba. Obtained the First School Leaving Certificate
